About the treatments

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is one of the most popular and effective contemporary healing techniques, practised in almost every country on the globe. It is part of a comprehensive medical system that has survived over the millennia. It is safe, with no side effects, and its clinical applicability is enormous. It can be used to transform any condition and involves the insertion of fine needles into the skin at specific points.

The main role of Acupuncture is to treat the body as a whole and promote its healing ability, thus restoring its natural balance and eliminating ill health. The theory is that the bodies energy can become obstructed for a many reasons and if left untreated can result in illness. Acupuncture with other modalities of TCM, promotes the free flow of the bodies energy, and thus can restore health and balance to the body

Fertility Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been treating infertility for over 2000 years and has recently been gaining acceptance in the west as a valuable method of restoring reproductive health. Because of its ability to relieve stress, regulate hormone levels and influence the menstrual cycle and ovulation, acupuncture is the treatment of choice for “unexplained infertility”.

Acupuncture & Chinese medicine can be used as a stand alone treatment or as an adjunct to western medicine and IUI/IVF treatment. Many conditions benefit from using both methods at the same time. Acupuncture is not a quick fix and treatment should last a minimum of 3 months, but the benefits are great and the changes are gradual.

Obstetric Acupuncture

In a healthy pregnancy, women who want to avail of the benefits of acupuncture should have weekly treatments up to week 12, monthly treatments from week 13 to week 36 and then weekly treatments from week 37 to 40 to prepare for childbirth.
